Bella loves Chewy!

Last week was a great mail week for Bella. She got lots of new goodies from Chewy. Not sure who was more excited, me or her! She got the "I and Love and You" chew sticks which she wasn't so sure about at first, but then she loved them! She laid on her bed and chewed it, as happy as can be! She also received this adorable toy, which she is obsessed with. Sadly, she assumes that every toy is meant to be destroyed, so it didn't last long. This is why we usually only give her bones to chew, because we have spent an embarrassing amount of money on toys that last .5 seconds. And here is a picture overload of my furry baby being adorably cute [sorry not sorry]:

I was so happy with all the of the products we received from Chewy! We will definitely be purchasing toys and treats from Chewy for our furry girl in the future. What are your dog's favorite toys?

Five on Friday!

I am officially done with my pediatrics rotation! Definitely bittersweet. I loved the office staff, working with my former pediatrician, and all the sweet kids, but it just means I am one step closer to graduation! The main thing I learned is that strep bacteria can cause any symptoms. Patient presents with a rash? Could be strep. Ear pain? Probably strep. We did sooo many strep swabs and diagnosed SO much strep pharyngitis, it's a miracle I didn't get it [knock on wood].

Loving my new work pants from Loft. My new go-to store for work clothes because they have the best.sales.ever. and such cute and comfy clothes!

I am the proud new owner of an iPhone 6! I know, I am like 2 years late on the iPhone 6 trend. My iPhone 4s had basically been worn slam out so I was SUPER exited when I got this in the mail this week! The camera quality is 500x better than my old phone. And how adorable is my new Tory Burch case? Love it!

We celebrated my Pop Pop's 90th birthday on Tuesday night. He is the most handsome, generous, loving man I know. He has recently started struggling with mild dementia, which has been so hard on the family. He is starting to forget his family, but he still has his hilarious sense of humor and loving personality. His favorite hobbies are riding his bike [which he does every. single. day.] and giving away his money to those in need. He was raised in a very poor family and worked hard his entire life and now is able to donate his money to those less fortunate. Gosh, I love him.

I had some inquiries about my necklace from Monday's post. It is an "Akola" necklace, which means "to work" in Ugandan dialect. All the necklaces are made by the women in Uganda and the money goes towards helping the women and children living in extreme poverty. I love the necklaces but love the story even more!

Fillo cups

A few weeks ago we had a "sip and see" for my sister and I made fillo shells filled with yummy goodness and wanted to post the recipe because it is SO easy, yummy, and perfect to take to any get together. All you need is:

-Mini fillo shells [these]

-Feta cheese

-1 jar of roasted red peppers

-Bacon bits [I use the ones in a bag like this]

-1 egg

Drain the red peppers and cut into small pieces. Mix equal parts peppers, feta, and bacon bits. Add egg and stir. Fill fillo shells and bake on 350 for about 20 minutes.

Your guests will devour them, I promise!

Weekending

This weekend, which was supposed to be filled with nothing but studying, ended up being productive AND fun! Friday night we went out for drinks with a few of my best friends and their significant others. What was supposed to be an early night with just a couple drinks ended up being a late night that got a little crazier than anticipated. The nights you don't plan always end up being the best nights! Needless to say, Saturday I slept way later than planned and realized I am getting way too old to stay out until 2am #grannystatus

Saturday morning after I struggled got out of bed, I spent the afternoon studying pediatrics. My end-of-rotation exam is this week, eek! We met my in-laws for dinner where we had delicious nachos + guac and I got a huge greek salad, so good! After dinner it was more studying, a little DVR, and an early bedtime.

Sunday was filled with studying and so.many.snuggles. I mean really, is there any better feeling in the world? nope.

Homemade shower cleaner

Happy Friday, lovely ladies! Today I am going to talk about a home cleaning trick that has changed my life! Dramatic, but true! Our shower door is always so disgusting looking. We have tried so many products and they all leave the "gunk" behind. In an effort to find a better solution, I headed to Pinterest… duh. Every post I read said Dawn + white vinegar would do the trick. Straight to the store I went.

I am pretty embarrassed to show you guys the before picture. It's disgusting. I mixed 1 cup of Dawn with 1 cup of white vinegar, poured it into a spray bottle, and sprayed down all the glass in our shower. Then I scrubbed with a sponge and voila! All the gunk was GONE! I squealed with excitement and husband said,"wow, you are easily excitable". Yes, yes I am.

Such an easy fix! So happy I now know how to clean our shower door!

Just because

Doesn't everyone love receiving snail mail? Especially getting a card "just because". After reading a a post that sweet Sarah Tucker posted on her blog, it got me thinking about being more intentional in my relationships. I want my family and friends to know how I feel about them. After all, we are never promised tomorrow. So I went and bought these adorable cards to send to 3 of my girlfriends that live out of town. I hope they bring a smile to their faces and remind them how thankful I am for their friendship! After all, that's what life is all about!

Today, I challenge you to send a letter via snail mail to someone who has been on your mind. Parent, sibling, friend, neighbor, someone that's struggling, someone that's fighting cancer. I promise it will make their day!
