Happy Friday friends! We made it! I am looking forward to a low-key weekend at home. Today I'm linking up with April and Amanda to share a random assortment of things!

Mommies, I need your help!! There are SO many strollers I have no idea which one to get! We are leaning toward Uppababy stroller as well as their infant car seat/bucket. I have a few new mommy friends that love their Uppababy stroller and bucket. However my sister has a Baby jogger and she's obsessed. We were learning toward Britax but now I'm thinking Uppababy. Any thought?!

Bella is 9 days post-ACL surgery. She is acting like herself for the most part and it is SO hard trying to keep her calm. She is only allowed on carpet, has to be on a leash at ALL times inside and outside, has to be lifted with a sling every time she goes down the back steps to the bathroom. No running, jumping, playing, etc. for 8 weeks. We had to get sedatives for her because she does not like sleeping and laying around all day and surprise, they don't work for her. She's still as wild as ever. We have to put her in a crate whenever we leave the house which is so sad because she is absolutely not used to that and she hates it. I keep telling myself it will be worth it once she is fully recovered and pain free but it's just breaking my doggy momma heart right now!

I was telling my fellow pregnant friend in Dallas (hi Diana!) how much I've been loving sour candy lately. Well this package shows up on my doorstep and I think they are my new favorite candy. Fellow NC people, do we have these here?! I have never seen them but I'm obsessed!

Last weekend hubs and I took a road trip for a day date and it was glorious! Starbucks, nursery furniture browsing, yummy lunch, farmer's market. Some good quality time!

Last weekend my hometown ECU pirates played in state rival NC State and all my girlfriends were in town for the game. They all went to either ECU or NCSU and I'm the lone one who went to UNC (go tarheels!). I tailgated then headed home to watch the game in the air conditioning… this preggo was not feeling sitting in the blazing hot 95 degrees humidity for a 3 hour football game for two schools that I didn't attend, no ma'am. It was so much fun getting together with my bff's, our time together is never enough!
I love my uppa baby stroller! I didn't get it until my second baby but would have loved it with my first. I love that it has so many seating options as far as what way the baby faces. I think the britax is a similar stroller and more cost friendly but if you can afford it I say go with the UB. You won't regret it!! I got the red (only to appease my state loving hubby). That EUC/state game was a doozie. I can't believe state lost my husband was not happy!! I don't blame you for watching from inside. It is too hot!!!
ReplyDeleteUppa Baby all the way! I can't say enough. I have talked all my friends into it and they tell their other friends!!! First customer service is amazing. If you fly get the travel bag and if airline damages they overnight new pieces. The bassinet feature for the first 6 months is so amazing! Great for out to dinner, shopping and I avoided all diaper changing tables. I would put my daughter on the changing pad. Plus let's not forgot the use of the bassinet for actual sleep!! I used the bassinet for naps when visiting friends and family but also had friends that used it as their main bassinet as well. We also have the UB car seat which snaps so easily into the stroller. Not to mention also has a feature where you can buckle in without base which is great for travel or if you have to go in someone else's car. Once you get into the big seat you can tilt the seat pretty far! So when they are 5-7 months you can use the big seat and tilt back which is great if you are shopping or walking around and don't feel like using the car seat. My daughter is two now and we have used and aboard out stroller and it is in perfect condition still! Don't forget to register for the snack tray too! Also Uppa Baby does yearly tuneup and travels over the state. They clean it up replace any issues, etc. last year we got 4 new wheels, shoulder straps and they recommended cleaning solution. And let's not forget it can also be a double stroller with rumble seat addition. Very easy to convert and doesn't take up as much space as other double strollers. It us worth every penny!!! I also have the umbrella stroller as well and love it!! I could go on for hours but if you have any specific questions or want any pictures of certain features let me know! I can send them to you! So happy for you and your family! Such an exciting time!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't help you with strollers but I can say love hearing about your day date ;-) Farmers market, baby shopping, Starbucks.....it sounds like the perfect day with the hubby. I hope you have a fabulous weekend doll <3 <3
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were in the same spot as you up until like... this past Monday haha. We're expecting our first baby in January and have been back and forth on strollers literally for months. Several mom friends have advised not to go full-throttle with a double stroller for now, and to get used to a single for awhile, so that was our original plan - go with the UB Cruz + Chicco car seat and convert to UB Vista if we're blessed to have Baby #2 come along in the next few years. But then I got all caught up in reading safety reviews and such and the Britax carseat won me over, which brought us to the Baby Jogger City Mini GT. I have several friends who have either this version or just the City Mini and they swear by it! It breaks down so easily, isn't a pain to lift in and out of the car, has great storage underneath, is perfect for walks (we're always out and about with our dog, so this was big for us)... so that was the winner for us. I've always LOVED the Vista, so I could see us potentially converting to that for a double if/when the time comes, but for now we're super happy with the City Mini GT decision :) It's so stressful trying to narrow this stuff down, but take your time, have fun with the experience, and know that either way you're choosing a fantastic carseat/stroller for your sweet little one! And test stuff out! We made so many "test run" trips to Buy Buy Baby, the stroller experts knew us by name by the time we made our decision haha.
ReplyDeleteYour day date sounds like so much fun!! My SIL has the Britax stroller and likes it and my best friend also got one too (but she's still pregnant so I don't know how she likes it lol). I'll definitely be looking forward to hearing how you like which ever one you pick! Have a great weekend and I hope Bella keeps feeling better!
ReplyDeleteWe have the city select baby jogger and love it. It's been really good for us! 😊
ReplyDeleteyour road trip dates are so cute! what a fun idea. and poor bella - it really hurts the heart to see our fur babies not themselves! all worth it in the end though. wish i could help with stroller stuff but i'm sure you have lots of momma friends with good advice :) :) happy weekend friend!

I'm not a mom, but I'm a nicu nurse and a babysitter for many, many years, so here are my thoughts on strollers.
ReplyDeleteIf you plan on running, then go with a BOB; its the safest-the other brands aren't designed(even thought they say they are and market it)-I belong to mom's run this town and you can always get awesome resales on them.
the uppababy is fabulous. Also, go with the bassinet. It's also safer than having a baby sit in an infant seat for hours.
Sorry for the NICU soap box about safety-but it aggravates me when I see parents doing something incorrectly.
Ahh baby stuff is so overwhelming!! We went with the Baby Jogger City Mini GT and LOVE it! It's so easy to fold up, not super heavy and the ride is really smooth. Not a bad price either! And poor Bella, that has to be so hard for all of you :(
ReplyDeleteSo many options with baby stuff! We have used the Britax B-Agile travel system with both boys and have been very impressed! The car seat just clicks in, and I love that the stroller can then be used for them to face forward FOR-EV-ER (seriously, we still put Walker in it sometimes)! ...all this said as Knox is sitting in the car seat clicked into the stroller at the doctor's office. ;)
ReplyDeleteStrollers have been overwhelming for me too. It was between the Maxi Cosi and the Baby Jogger City Mini Select travel systems. So far I went with the Baby Jogger on my registry, but that could certainly change!
ReplyDeleteoh girl. stroller shopping iiiiiiis insane!!! i have now had... 4 strollers. we started with the britax b-agile, which is nice to push if you only ever have one baby that is a toddler. it's not versatile in the slighest, and i guess we should've gotten the b-ready... but at this point i want to be able to push a double stroller, so after several people recommended it, we have landed on the baby jogger city select! and it is SO versatile. i love that i can use it as a single stroller or pop on the additional seat for a double. apparently it can be arranged 16 different ways! and oh, i have definitely heard great things about uppababy, too!! i say, just look for something that can do a seat facing forward OR backward and has options for tiny babies, like bassinet or carseat attachments!
ReplyDeleteYour road trip sounds fun! Hope your fur baby is back to normal soon! I've heard great things about the Uppa Baby. I have a City Select and I loooooove it! We bought it because it is so flexible. Several different inclines and the seat can face forward or backward. I also love that there are so many different configurations since we plan to have a second child someday. It rides very smoothly and folds easily. The sunshade is also nice and large. We had the car seat attachment for when our daughter was very little.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a baby but all of those stroller options are overwhelming!! They both look nice to me! :) Glad you had a fun day date and enjoyed tailgating! Hope you're having a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love this post - how exciting to decide on strollers, nursery items, etc. So happy for you girl!!
ReplyDeletePoor Bella! I seriously can't imagine trying to keep my pup calm after knee surgery. It's not like they know any better but it definitely breaks your heart to have to lock them up! And yay for your day date with the hubby and Starbucks AND for getting to see your girl's at the tailgate! Good call on watching the game inside though! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteYour day date sounds like such a fun time!! Love that quality time :) xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteMy friend has the Britax, and she loves it! We went with the Graco ClickConnect Jogger with our first baby, and unfortunately, we didn't like it. When searching for a jogger, make sure you look at whether the wheels lock automatically, or if they can swivel. This time around, we got the Schwinn system, and we LOVE it :)
ReplyDeleteThat uppababy shower was the most confusing this for me to help put together AND I AM AN ENGINEER!!! It's totally cute though. That's all I cans at about it. ;)
ReplyDeleteCan say LOL
DeleteYou look gorgeous on in all your pictures! I went to the ECU game this past weekend and was dying of heat. I can't imagine what it was like at that game! xx, I'm Fixin' To
