Girls weekend at the lake!

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

A few weekends ago I went to my girlfriend's lake house for our annual girl's weekend. I have been best friends with most of these girls since preschool and the rest since 6th grade. They are more like sisters than friends! We are all somewhat spread out across NC but we try to get together at least once every few months, and a good time is sure to be had.

The Rosemont Winery is close to Danielle's lake house so we headed there and lucky to them they had a designated driver all weekend (insert hand raised emoji). They were so thoughtful and brought me a few bottles of sparkling wine so that I didn't feel completely left out! The rest of the weekend was spent playing games such as bananagrams and charades, talking non-stop, lots of wine drinking for them and hot chocolate drinking for me, and so much yummy food.

It was the perfect weekend with my best friends. Time with them does my heart good. I wish it were more often but I am so thankful for these special times!

Thanksgiving recap!

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

I'm back after an unintentional blog break! Life has been so busy and you guys know the first thing to go is always this blog. We had an amazing long Thanksgiving weekend at my in-laws. It was super depressing heading home Sunday and back to reality. They live on a farm about 50 minutes from us and my family so we are so very lucky and thankful that we get to spend all holidays with both of our families. For Thanksgiving dinner my in-laws and they are gracious enough to host my entire crazy family.

We are extra thankful for our growing baby girl this year. I have always imagined what it would be like to be pregnant during the holidays and it is even better than expect. Except for the "no drinking spiked apple cider" part. I was quite envious of everyone's cocktails and champagne, but totally worth it.

After Thanksgiving, the rest of the weekend was spent relaxing, shooting guns, riding 4wheelers, going on long walks with Bella, and relaxing in front of their fire. My MIL cooked every meal and spoiled us to death, as always. Like I said, it was hard to leave! We had our Christmas card pictures taken on the farm on Sunday morning and I can't wait to show y'all!

Weekend in Charlotte! + $300 Amazon giveaway!

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

This past weekend we headed 4 hours west to Charlotte, NC to see my best friend for the weekend! We were up and at 'em early Saturday morning with a pit stop at Starbucks to start our road trip.

Right when we got there we headed out to lunch then to a fun little outdoor bar for a [virgin] bloody mary. Things are definitely different when you can't drink! Totally worth it though!

We headed back to Kate's and got ready then went uptown for dinner at Vida Cantina. It was so yummy! Baby girl is just like her momma and loooves Mexican food. Give us all the salsa and queso! After dinner we went to a going away party for some of our hometown friends that are moving to NYC. Let me tell you, I cannot hang like I used to. It also doesn't help that I'm the only sober person there… like I said, things are different these days. We headed home pretty early because it had been such a long day!

Sunday we got up early and had a big breakfast before the Panther's game. Kate's brother, who she lives with, is Cam's personal assistant so we got the full treatment. It was so much fun going on the field and seeing firsthand how big those guys really are! Unfortunately we lost in the last 30 seconds but it was a great game and such a fun time. Monday morning we had breakfast with Garrett's granddad then headed home. It was a bummer spending all afternoon in the car on my birthday but we headed over to my mom's for dinner with both my family and my in-laws to celebrate. It was a perfect long weekend!

Don't forget, you have 2 days left to enter the giveaway for a $300 Amazon gift card hosted by Annie from Home of Malone's and 16 other fab bloggers! The giveaway ends on Friday, November 18th, at midnight. Good luck!!

Weekending (a few days late)!

Wednesday, November 9, 2016

This past weekend was good for my soul! It was extra hard waking up Monday morning because I was so sad the weekend was over. Friday night consisted of grabbing dinner, a trip to Lowe's, and in bed at 8:30pm to watch Blacklist. We are wild these days guys…

Saturday morning we were up early to make the 1.5 hour trip to see our cousins and meet their new baby! Emilia Ruth is absolutely perfect and I cannot wait for her and baby girl Davis to grow up together. I foresee so many play dates and holidays watching these two girls together.

We also got to grab brunch at Tupelo Honey with our other cousins. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for so long and it did not disappoint! I got the eggs benedict and it was so yummy. Also, the homemade biscuits and jam were out of this world. A pregnant girl's dream.

Sunday morning we were up at the crack of dawn, thank you daylight savings time. We went ahead to early church, grocery store then met my in-laws for lunch. After lunch I had a baby shower to attend. One of my friends is due with a baby boy in December. Arranged marriage possibly?! Sunday night we  capped off a busy weekend by celebrating my mom's birthday. It was a great weekend!

Happy birthday mom!

Monday, November 7, 2016

Today is my mom's birthday and she deserves a post of her own. The most selfless, patient, caring, and thoughtful person I know. As you grow up you begin to realize how much you owe to your parents. My mom has been my rock my entire life, but especially over the past few years. I wouldn't have made it through PA school, IVF process, or many other hard moments without her. She is always thinking of others before herself.

I pray that I am half the mom to my daughter that my mom has been to me. Happy birthday momma, I love you!
