My first post! I have thought about starting a blog for a long time, but honestly my life isn't too exciting so I figured I wouldn't bore my readers with details of my life. Well, I feel like I now have a few (semi) exciting things to write about in the upcoming months... so here I go! (Disclaimer: I am a terrible writer so my posts will probably consist of rambling scattered thoughts.)

So, as everyone reading this probably already knows, my big sister is PREGGO!!!!! Talk about my dream come true!!! I decided this would be the perfect way to start my new blog. Since Keehln doesn't really do much on Facebook, this will also be a way for me to document the next 7 months until my sweet niece/nephew is born.

March 17: I was home (Greenville) for the weekend to take the GRE. I had just finished the 5 hour test and my brain was fried and feeling like jello when Colt and Keehln got to my mom's to eat dinner with us. They had just been to Colorado the week before and said they brought us back prizes but that we had to open them at the exact same time. Right when I opened mine and saw the tiny onesie and looked at Keehln sitting there crying, I knew and immediately started crying! After Eliza realized that it wasn't, in fact, an outfit for our dog, her and my mom just sat there stunned! It was the funniest moment, and Colt caught it all on video :)

For those of you that know me, you know that 1) I am a huge school nerd and 2) I am a huge planner. So naturally my first question was, "How am I going to miss class next semester when the baby is born?!?" Well, I still don't have an answer to that question, but there is no doubt that class will be missed and I will be at the hospital for the arrival of the new addition. I already told Keehln and Colt that I am going to be living in their guest bedroom over Thanksgiving and Christmas break and that I will happily wake up with the baby in the middle of the night!

Keehln is due November 13th, the day before my birthday, and I don't mind sharing my day one bit :) I think it is going to be a girl. A little girl would fit into our family perfectly! Keehln is so prissy a little girl would be perfect for her, her own little baby doll. Colt wants a boy.. he refers to the baby as "his son". "Uncle Garrett" is hoping for a boy too, and the two of them would have so much fun introducing that little boy to sports and boy-things. Honestly, I'm kind of hoping for a boy too. Our family wouldn't know what to do with a boy, and I think that would make things interesting :) My dad grew up with 3 sisters then had 3 daughters, so girls are all we know. Having a boy in the family would change things up.

I can't believe my sister is old enough to have kids! Seems like just yesterday she locked me in my room and cut my hair (her career started when she was young!). I came out looking like I stuck my finger in an electrical socket. Or when she drew on my face with permanent marker, and then my parents made her scrub it off. Ouch, my face was raw.

It is going to be so much fun having a baby around for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and every occassion in the future! I am so happy for sis and Colt and I promise to document her growing baby bump for the next 29 weeks!
