FoF: new vacuum and books

Our vacuum bit the dust [no pun intended] a few weeks ago so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Luckily my sister lives right beside me so I have been stealing borrowing theirs. I have wanted a Dyson forever but just could not justify spending that much on a vacuum. I think Brittany was reading my mind when her post went live. Maybe I am easily persuaded or she's just a really good saleswoman but this Dyson was purchased 5 minutes later. And the fact that it was on sale… score! It arrived last week and I am in loooove. You seriously would have thought it was Christmas morning at the Davis household. We took turns using it and squealed with delight at how easy it was to push and how great the suction is. We are officially an old married couple.

Last week I started a new devotional all about "waiting" because let's be real, that's what my life has consisted of for the past year. I am not exactly a patient person, just ask my husband, so our season of waiting has been especially hard for me. I find myself wishing time away which is terrible. This study is helping me understand why God puts seasons of waiting in our lives and how I can grow in my faith during this season.

I recently got this dress from Anthropologie after seeing my girl Lindsey's post and I am obsessed! I have already worn it multiple times and I know it will be on repeat all summer and into fall. It is flattering and the perfect dress for baby showers, brunch, date nights, etc.

If you follow me on Instagram (@mrsordavis) then you have already heard, but our sweet German short-haired pointer Bella tore her ACL and needs surgery. My doggy momma heart has been SO sad lately because she hasn't been able to run and swim at the beach which is her absolute favorite thing in the world. Have any doggy mommas experienced the TPLO surgery for ACL reconstruction? How was it? We are putting it off until August because we have so much going on right now and I am just dreading it :(

Now that I'm no longer in school I have so much more time to read for pleasure. It is one of my very favorite pastimes! I have been flying through books like I did before PA school. I saw that the movie "Me Before You" is coming out soon and I always like to read the books before seeing the movies. So far I am halfway through and I'm loving it which has me super excited about seeing the movie.

  7. I loved Me Before You! My parent's Dyson is the best. They got me a vaccuum for Christmas my first year post-college and I still love it! I hope Bella's surgery goes well. I am ending a period of waiting right now and it's always hard to be in that place but I know my faith grew so much in the last year and a half. Jess at Just Jess

  13. Our chocolate lab had TPLO surgery in 2012. His knee is doing great! The hardest part for me was the few days he had to wear the cast and having to carry him up and down the stairs. Good luck, she will be fine and dandy once it's done!! 😊

  18. So sorry about your puppy's ACL! How horrible for a dog to have an injury like that =0( I don't know what I would do if my cat got hurt! I am thinking I need to read Me & You now since everyone has recommended it (and its playing in the theaters).

  19. I would love to have that Dyson! We have one of the vacuums that has the big "engine" or whatever you call it in addition to the actual vacuum suction part itself, and it's such a pain to lug around, especially up and down the stairs! Also, love, love, love that dress! Hope Bella is okay...and seriously can't wait to see Me Before You next week with my book club!
