The day after Thanksgiving we got up early and headed to the airport for our NYC trip with my dad. He took his 5 kids (3 daughters and 2 son-in-laws) and it was quite the trip! We packed in SO much in 3 days and did tons of shopping and walking. When we got to the airport he upgraded us to first class which was so fun. We may or may not have had an embarrassing amount of mimosas and bloody mary's.
We arrived to NYC and dropped our bags at our hotel before we hit the streets. We stayed at The W Hotel in Time Square. It was right in the center of Time Square… so convenient for all the shows we went to.
We did the touristy thing and walked around Central Park, did some shopping, then went back and got ready for the night. The first night we saw Blue Man Group which was absolutely amazing. I had seen them before in Vegas but they never disappoint. I highly recommend this show! Our tickets were on the very front row and I got chosen to participate against my will, haha. We had to wear "ponchos" because they spray stuff into the crowd during the show. It was so much fun.
After the show we had dinner reservations at Park Avenue Winter. The name of the restaurant changes with the seasons, so during the Spring it's called Park Avenue Spring. This was my favorite restaurant of the trip. The atmosphere was perfection and the bar was swoon worthy. Before your meal they bring you mini loaves of pumpkin bread with sweet maple honey butter. Good lord that bread was heaven. They also bring these adorable mini "candied apples" stuck into a small log. Those things were DELICIOUS and should have been dessert!
Day 1 left us with tired feet and full bellies. Check back for part 2 of my NYC recap tomorrow!
Drinks on a plane is the BEST way to fly, I love when we get to use our free tokens. Looks like you had a wonderful trip, the marshmallows in the wood looks deliciously fun. I LOVE NYC at Christmas time.
