Christmas ornament tradition

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

When G and I got married we decided to start a "tradition" of buying a Christmas ornament from every place we travel to together. It has been so fun collecting these ornaments and re-living all the memories. We plan to keep this tradition up even after we have kids! I encourage you to start some kind of Christmas tradition like this. It makes me so excited to decorate the tree and remember all the places we have been. For example, when G hung our ornament from our honeymoon in Mexico, his first thought was: "Remember when we ordered room service and got one of every single thing on the menu?" Yes, babe, I do #welovefood

Here are some of the places we have been:

Riviera Maya, Mexico (honeymoon)

Nashville, TN

Vail, CO

Charleston, SC

New York City

Key West, FL

Linking up with Jess and Pinky today!

  1. We have an ornament tradition too! My mom started it when we were kids and now my husband and I grab an ornament from every travel place. We have some amazing ones from Alaska and Canada and I'm excited to add more international ones this year and next.

You should add this to the Christmas Countdown linkup :)!

  11. I love this idea! I got a few ornaments when I was abroad, but I wish I had gotten one from every place I'd been. I do try to get one from every place I visit now.

  12. I've collected ornaments from my vacations for years! It's such a great way to remember special trips without cluttering up your home all year round.

  16. We do this too!! It's one of my favorites!! We've found them (well I should say remembered to pick them up) everywhere but Bora Bora so I'm just going to make one for there. It's such fun remembering all the places we went! One day eventually I'd like to have one of our trees just with the traveling ornaments.

  17. I love this tradition!! I picked up a Texas ornament earlier this year and when my fiance went to London he got me one from there, I may have been subconsciously collecting this :)!
