Confessions

Thursday, February 25, 2016

Today I'm linking up with my girls Jess @ The Newly, Joey @ Hodges Podges and Annie @ Home of Malones to "air my dirty laundry" and 'fess up to some of my less than glamorous moments lately…

I confess…

|| I wear my hair in a sock bun when it's dirty and I'm too lazy to wash it

|| My husband does said sock bun every time I wear one… yep

|| I can count on 2 hands the number of dinners I have cooked in our 2 years of marriage. My husband cooks every.single.night. and I'm not complaining

|| My biggest fear about having a baby… not getting 9 hours of sleep every night. I'm terrified of that. I think about it almost every day.

|| At least once a week I forget to switch the wet laundry over to the dryer. It ends up smelling sour and nasty and I have to run the washing machine again. The worst!

|| Sometimes I skip out on going to the gym because I don't feel like having to wash, dry, straighten my hair after

|| One of my Facebook friends posted a minute long video of her newborn baby crying with the caption: "I'm not posting this for advice, I just want everyone to see what my life is like these days". Hold on while I resist the urge to punch you through my computer screen. I'd kill to have a crying newborn baby in my home.

So, that is my life in a nutshell these days. What are you confessing to this week?!

  2. The sock bun confession is still one of my favorite posts of yours and I'd be pumped if my husband cooked all the time - I mean he does, but not nearly as much as me lol! xo, Biana-BlovedBoston

  3. Haha I will admit, the not getting 9+ hours of sleep a night thing does really stink the first few months. But then, when they start sleeping through the night, you feel like a new person again! It's a wonder to me how humans can survive on such little sleep for a few months, but somehow we do!

  4. Too funny your husband does the sock bun, love it.

And not getting enough sleep is something that terrifies me about kids. I am a bear without my sleep.

  6. LOL the sock bun thing still cracks me up! Your husband is such a trooper! And 9 hours of sleep?! Jealous! If I get 7 I'm a happy camper! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  7. There is most definitely a load of laundry in the washer doing exactly that, right this instant! Don't worry about the sleep thing with a newborn - your body just changes and adapts and handles it. But I won't lie, husby and I MISS sleeping in like something fierce. :)

  8. I am afraid of what it would look like if my husband did my hair. That's awesome.

Hard is hard so I try not to wind myself up when people complain about problems I'd love to have, because I surely complain about a problem someone else would love to have. And I surely don't do it to be insensitive so I know others don't either. I don't live their life and they don't live mine. We're all on our own journey.

  9. bahahahahaa girl I'm with you. Sometimes if I have "clean hair club" like I call it in my house, the thought of getting it sweaty.....nope I will drink wine on the couch instead ;)

  10. I have never understood people complaining about their kids on social media. I get a funny little rant here or there, but sometimes I read things that just make me sad.
And nothing is worse than forgetting about wet laundry, but I'm pretty sure we all do it if that makes you feel any better ;-)

  11. Oh man - I can't even comment on babies yet; I love them but I don't have one. I have been waiting and praying for what seems like years for the Lord to send me a husband. So often the girls I work with complain about their husbands and tell me how "lucky" I am to still be single... Talk about wanting to punch someone! :)

  12. I've done the same thing with laundry or I'll put it in the dryer and forget to turn the dryer on and I still end up with smelly, stinky clothes that have to be rewashed. I would worry about the lack of sleep too and I sleep like a rock and don't hear it thunder. I would be worried I wouldn't hear them cry unless I put the monitor right by ear.

  13. Oh I have done the same thing with laundry too! The worst part is then explaining to my boyfriend that yes, it does need to be washed again because otherwise it will be super gross lol

  14. I do the laundry thing every so often, but I always leave the dried clothes in the dryer. Sometimes I even bring the laundry basket out to put the clothes in while I dry something else and put them back in the dryer. So bad. But I don't always have time to fold clothes. Out of sight, out of mind right? Haha. I love that your husband cooks for you. So awesome!!! And I am so sorry about the crying baby part. It is rough when you want a baby so badly and people take it for granted that they can do it with ease (getting pregnant). I have been there and I have cried so many times over it. I totally feel you.

  15. I am so jealous that your husband cooks! I need to get my husband's butt in gear. He gets home from work an hour before me and I still have to cook when I get home! I'm sorry to hear about the crying baby thing. So many people don't think when they say things like that. I never understood how much it could hurt a person until people started asking us about a sibling for our daughter (which hasn't quite gone according to plan thus far).

  17. Haha I hear ya on these!! My bun look is when my hair is clean and I don't want to straighten it - it's been in a bun everyday this week lol I feel the same way about the gym thing - I've been doing some crunches and squats in the morning which usually doesn't induce sweat ;) I'm going to love hearing what ends up happening with you and the sleep when y'all have a baby. I can barley function on less than 8 hours of sleep so having a baby will be very interesting lol

  18. The lack of sleep is HARD - true. But you totally get used to it and learn to function on caffeine and joy!

  19. Totally agree with a lot of these! Working out would be so much easier without hair (even though that sounds bad lol). And I confess... I've had like NO time for blogging and it makes me sad :(

  20. I love that your husband does your sock bun! I think he needs to teach my husband those skills!!

  21. omg i LOVE that your hubs does your sock bun!!! and i cannot imagine posting my baby crying on FB. even in my worst moments i know it's a gift i am not deserving of. and about the sleep... don't worry about that, i say!! no part of it lasts forever and mommies are magically very adaptable. and excusably tired! ha!

  22. I am so with you on the last one.

  23. Girl, I don't go to the gym because of the time it takes to shower and get ready after. Seriously, I don't have that kinda time. :) xo, Champagne&Suburbs
