Coffee talk

If we were sitting down to chat over a skinny pumpkin spice latte here's what I'd tell you...

\\ I have to start off by saying that the tragedy in Las Vegas is simply heartbreaking. It is truly sad that I fear going to public places these days but my hope and trust rests in God. Through all of this tragedy and hate, I cannot fathom not knowing the Lord and who holds my future. These hard times our country is facing make me long for heaven and they are teaching me that my sole purpose in this life is to teach my daughter about God and how to love others and treat everyone as she would like to be treated. I saw this little graphic and it spoke straight to my heart.

\\ I recently got these jeans from Old Navy for just $25 and I'm in love! The step-hem gives them a fun twist and I know they will be on repeat with booties all fall.

\\ My husband came home from the grocery store last weekend with these pumpkin cinnamon rolls (I swear he knows my love language) and they did not disappoint! They were delicious and such a yummy weekend breakfast treat.

\\ All my local NC ladies... I am hosting an Anchor Beads trunk show on October 18th. You guys have heard me talk about Anchor Beads and the meaning behind them many times on my blog. It is a cause so near and dear to my heart. If you're local, email me for the address! Nothing better than cute necklaces and 10% of the proceeds go towards childhood cancer research.

\\ I posted this picture on my Insta stories last week and had so many people ask me where her onesie was from. I've linked it here! Target for the win... super cute and so cheap!

\\ I am leaving tomorrow for a girls trip to Key West and I cry every time I think about leaving my baby. The mom guilt is real! This is my first time leaving her overnight and while I know she is in great hands with her daddy, I am so scared she will forget me or need me while I'm gone and I won't be there. I know the world will keep spinning and she will never remember me leaving, but gosh it makes me sad. Veteran mamas, will leaving her ever get easier?!

  1. cute jeans!! I am def going to try and come to the anchor beads show, if I can't make it I'll def order. I see so many cute things I want! I know we've talked about you leaving but i promise it will be okay. You are going to be much sadder than she will. She's going to have the best time with Garrett and you're going to have a much deserved weekend away relaxing! It definitely gets easier the more you leave her over night, now I practically push my boys out the door. Only kidding, I do get sad still. Just the other week when my FIL took them to the beach for 4 days I was definitely so sad when they pulled away. But i know they always have a great time and its always a way for me to reset and feel better as a mom when they get home! I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

  2. Those anchor beads are so pretty. :)

Not a mom, so can't really give any veteran advice. All I can say is enjoy the trip with your girls and then cuddle lil one like crazy when you get home. Special daddy/daughter time over the weekend will be fabulous <3

  5. You know exactly how I feel about the whole Las Vegas thing and I'm with you on that graphic: AAAAA-MEN! You're going to have a ball in Key West, but I know how you feel about leaving your baby. It's hard the first time, but you'll be a pro before you know it. And pumpkin cinnamon rolls?! Adding those to my grocery list...thanks, G. ;) And that onesie is adorable! xoxo friend!

  8. How do you not squeeze those thighs all day long?!?!? I love that onesie! I still cannot wrap my brain around what happened. I hate having to think about these things and then debate if I should go to a public event when I'm pregnant. Ughhhhhh. On a brighter note have such a fun time! She will be fine with her daddy and I think I need to pick up those jeans and cinnamon rolls!

  9. I feel ya, mama! I'm looking at a possible night away from Charlotte soon and it kills my mama heart... but I also feel excited. And then I feel guilty for feeling excited #mamaguiltforthewin. You'll have an amazing time and just think about how wonderful seeing her when you get home will be!

I have a blog post request for you. What are your baby sleep secrets?! What's your sleep routine, do you use any baby magic (sleep suits, etc.), when did you transition to the crib... Can you tell we're in desperation mode over here? Charlotte's been waking up multiple times every night and I'm exhausted. She's still in the pack n play in our room and we're ready to move her to her crib but now she's standing up and can really recognize that she's in a new place and I'm worry we are just in big trouble with no end in sight. Help! :)

  11. Leaving definitely gets easier, I promise!! But warning you now, the first night might be really rough (at least it was for me, Hadley didn't even really notice, ha!). You can do it mama! Key West will be SO fun!

  12. Awe, I can imagine how hard it is to leave her. I love that picture you posted above. So many people fear bringing a child into this world, but I love the optimism and positivity that if you raise your child to be kinda and loving, it's one more beautiful soul that has potential to pay it forward. We need future generations to spread love, not hate. The events this week have made me hold my loved ones a little closer and a little tighter. Continued prayers for all the victims and their families who are mourning.
