Weekending: a weekend at home!

Monday, November 10, 2014

This was the first weekend we have been home in 6 weeks! It was much needed!! The Fall is always so busy with weddings and weekend getaways [that are so much fun!] but it is always refreshing to spend a weekend at home to re-charge. Friday at school we got to learn suturing techniques on pig's feet! After I shed a tear or two over these poor piggies, I had a blast learning how to suture 5 different ways. I am all ready for my surgery rotation! Anyone have a cut they need sewn up?!?

Then we celebrated mom's birthday! After dinner, hubs and I decided it wasn't too soon to watch a Christmas movie. We are both slightly obsessed with everything Christmas.

[Sis and her hubs on the left, me and my hubs on the right... people always ask if sis and I are twins!]

Saturday morning bright and early we heard a knock on our door [my sister, niece, and brother-in-law live right beside us]. The cutest 2-year-old I know wanted to come cuddle and watch Mickey in bed. Ok, fiiiiine, I will cuddle with you ;) Her uncle Garrett made her breakfast in bed and little miss princess was happy as could be. [look at that bed head... that is some serious morning hair!]

Then sis and I left the boys and baby at home and went to the Holiday Show. Every November there is a huge weekend show where people set up booths to sell everything Christmas. It was huge!! Took us about 2 hours to make our way through. I bought a few Christmas decorations and it got me in the Christmas spirit!!

Saturday night mom cooked a yummy dinner and we hung with family. Sunday was for church, naps, football, bike rides, and school work. I feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle the [crazy] week ahead. P.s. it's officially my birthday week!!

And I will leave you with the face of a spoiled rotten pup that got caught eating candy off the table. Her face says it all.

  1. Eww suturing pigs feet would gross me out! I guess it's better than human feet! That pic of your dog is hilarious! Looks like she is fat and happy after eating candy!

  2. Ahhh!! LOL, that picture of your sweet pup kills me!!! My Scout sits like that sometimes and John and I always joke that she is a person - too funny!! And girl, I'm not going to lie, I would totally be into the suturing! It's like half-craft and half-medical! ;)

    1. Our dog basically is a person. Or she thinks she is at least. #spoiled

  3. Love the pigs feet photo!! I absolute love suturing- my boyfriend actually cut his head on a door last night (it was pretty small near his eyebrow) but refused to go to the ER because it was late and he knows how expensive it is. I wish I had suture at home to do it!!

    1. Oh gosh I hope he's all better now!! My hubs brought me home sutures and needle drivers from work so now I just have to find something to suture. They told us you can buy pig's feet at the grocery store [ew] to practice on!

  6. Love that EJ came to cuddle! How precious is that. Also, I miss Starlight. I'm coming to Greenville the day before Thanksgiving and I have a list of places I want to eat. :) Love that holiday show too! Was always one of my favorite things to do to get in the Christmas spirit! xo
