Give Grace

Thursday, September 10, 2015

Today I am linking up with Meghan @ Champagne & Suburbs and Jenn @ Going the Distance to talk about an issue than is near and dear to my heart: infertility.

This is such a common struggle among women, yet it is hardly ever talked about. Infertility affects 1 in 6 couples. Millions of couples struggle with it every single day, yet women often feel so alone in their journey to becoming pregnant. That's where the #GiveGrace movement steps in. Created by Megan Smalley who has been struggling with infertility for 3 years, this campaign was created for women just like her. To pray for each other, lift each other up, and let women know that they are not alone.

Having a family of our own is my husband and I's greatest dream. We talked about having children on our first date! Though we have not yet begun trying to get pregnant, we faced infertility issues a few years ago. We had some big decisions to make. We faced, and still are facing, a lot of unknowns medically. We are unsure of what the future holds for us but we pray every night for our future babies. And I pray every night for the women dealing with infertility.

So what can you do? Visit Scarlet & Gold to read more about the #GiveGrace movement. If you have a friend or family member dealing with infertility, let them know you care. #GiveGrace to them when they are having a rough day. Send them a card, pray for them, encourage them, because the journey can be so lonely.

Linking up with Annie to spill my thoughts for today!

  9. What a beautiful reminder and statement. Girl this is my biggest fear. Mark and I talk about this all the time, so many of our friends with pouring money into IVF and so young. Focus on getting through school and hopefully everything else will work out the way it is supposed to. xoxoxoxo

  10. This is so sweet. I totally believe the one in six stat - it seems like more unfortunately. The good news is that, with all the couples I know who have done hormones, drugs, IUIs and IVF, they've all ended up as parents :) Still, that waiting part before it comes true is the worst.

  13. I love, love, love this. I hope lots of people will read yalls post and find out more about this campaign. We all need to #GiveGrace in so many different aspects of life, but especially in more sensitive subjects like this. You truly never know what someone is going through. I've been reading your blog for a while and I know that you and Garrett will be great parents. I see how you love your niece and nephew and Bella and I know that translate to your kids as well. I pray that when the time comes, the Lord will bless you!

  15. This is a great post! I had no clue how common infertility was until joining the blogger community - even though it's such a difficult thing, it's encouraging to know there are other couples having similar struggles who can lift each other up. We won't be trying to have kids for a few years, so I can't imagine those who deal with infertility. Y'all are going to be the cutest and most fun parents ever!
