When I got engaged I had no idea what I wanted my wedding dress to look like. What I DID know is that I wanted a plain, tulle, cathedral length wedding veil. This was a non-negotiable. This may have been influenced by the fact that I had my sister's cathedral length wedding veil that was going to be my "something borrowed". However, when we got her veil out of storage, it had 2 huge rips in it that couldn't be repaired. Cue major meltdown. After coming to terms with the fact that I would NOT be wearing my sister's veil, this was still the style I wanted to wear on my wedding day.
When I found "the dress" at Hayden Olivia Bridal, I wasn't saying "yes" to the dress until I saw it with the veil. When they put the veil on me, I immediately knew this dress and veil combo was the winner. I was in love! Though my veil was very plain, the length gave it the "wow" factor without taking away from the intricate details of my dress. And since my dress was fit and flare, my veil was the "train" that my dress didn't have.

Whether you choose angel-cut, birdcage, lace, or cathedral length, there is a perfect veil for every dress! DeleteLove that you knew exactly what type of veil you wanted (I did too!) and your veil and dress look perfect - you looked gorgeous!! Speaking of gorgeous, I'm obsessed with that necklace in the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteThanks girl!! Fingers crossed for you ;)
DeleteLove your blog, and your name! (I have a boy Owen, but know one other gal Owen and think it's so cute!). I love wedding veils too!! I had a very simple one because I had an informal/outdoor wedding, but it definitely made me feel like a "bride" :)
ReplyDeleteWow that is awesome! I know a few guys named Owen, but no girls :) I've grown to love my name though. Happy to have found your cute blog and can't wait to follow along!
DeleteI love your veil and it definitely adds the WOW factor!! It's true - the accessories are why pull together a bridal look. I can't tell you how many veils I tried on before settling on mine.... and how upset my mom was when she found out I wouldn't be using the traditional blusher! (I figured my husband would be nervous and it would mess up my hair... or we'd forget... Or.. Or... Or... Lol)
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious hahaha, definitely a story you can tell your kids in the future ;)
DeleteYour dress and veil were gorgeous! Glad I came across your blog! Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! Xoxo

DeleteI love fashion and beauty blogs, but I prefer ones that are more real. I can certainly appreciate gorgeous photos and detail shots of the outfits blogger post, but I also like to see real life stuff too. No one is "on" all the time! Your dress and veil are gorgeous. I love longer veils, they are so timeless!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!! And thank you so much! xoxox
DeleteYou know I love your dress… and the veil of course!! At first I wanted fingertip, then floor length, until I discovered that the veil can't be shorter than my train… which is pretty long. But I'm with you on tulle with a raw edge- is yours single or double layer??
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! Mine was single layer! you can totally borrow it if you want, just let me know!! :)
DeleteMet you through Home of Malones! Love your photos and your story :) You looked absolutely beautiful.
