Happy Thursday y'all! This week has been so busy and I'm ready for the weekend. Today I'm coming at you with the best summer dessert ever. I am not a huge fan of "regular" banana pudding with vanilla wafers but this one is so much better. Such a southern classic yet the cookies make all the difference. Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding
Ingredients:
-1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
-1 (12 oz) container frozen cool whip thawed
-2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies
-6 to 8 bananas, sliced
-2 cups milk
-1 (5 oz) box instant French vanilla pudding
-1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
Directions:
-Line the bottom of a 9x13 dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top
-In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using handheld electric mixer
-In another bowl, combine cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth
-Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture
-Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir well until blended
-Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with remaining cookies
-Refrigerate until ready to serve

ReplyDeleteDefinitely saving this because 1) it reminds me of my childhood. My great grandmother loved to make banana pudding! 2) My cousin LOVES it... so I'm pretty sure that it will be perfect for celebrating her, too!
