Weekending: how many days 'til graduation?

Monday, June 15, 2015

This weekend was a pretty uneventful one, filled with lots of studying [only 180 days 'til graduation people. #ithinkican] with some fun study breaks. Friday I got home from work and was surprised by these beauties from my adorably sweet husband:

Friday night we cooked in and had a low-key night catching up on DVR and going to bed early.

Saturday morning it was up early to study, bleh. I took a study break to take my niece to the pool and have a beer [or 2]. We took Bella too and she absolutely LOVED it. We could not keep her out of the water! This resulted in a sleepy girl the rest of the day… success!

Saturday night we cooked dinner for my family at my sister's house. We had a mexican feast complete with homemade margs and it was so delicious! Instead of doing ground beef, we put chicken breasts in the crock pot with taco seasoning and chicken broth and let it cook all day. It turned out amazing. The chicken was so tender and flavorful and it put a yummy twist on your typical tacos.

Saturday night we offered to keep baby Jack at our house. My brother-in-law is in the coast guard reserve and this was his monthly weekend out of town, so we decided to give my sister a full night's sleep. There were so many snuggles! I went to bed thinking 'I want a baby right this instant' and woke up thinking 'maybe I'm not quite ready to give up my 9-hour-a-night-sleep-pattern'. Waking up 3 times during the night to feed/change him was exhausting, even with my sweet hubby doing half the work. I felt like a zombie all day yesterday. But holy cow how cute is he??

Sunday was spent studying all.day.long. mixed with church, grocery shopping, gym. The usual. I hope you have a short Monday! 3 days left at my geriatrics rotation, an end-of-rotation exam, then on to pediatrics! I can't wait!

  4. Jack is too precious!! I think the same thing with babies - they're so fun and cute and it'd be so fun to have one now then when I'm pooped and just laying around I remind myself I couldn't do this with a baby and then I'm thankful I don't have one yet lol good luck finishing up your clinical!

  5. Baby Jack is too cute!! And hey, at least you get to practice!! I will definitely be stealing my friends kids when they have them... One day, so I can see how it is having a baby!! But then again, I don't plan to have kids til I'm 30 or 31!
